Lenovo and Nutanix have introduced their first blockchain project built-in on the Lenovo ThinkAgile HX7820 Appliance platform and runs on the Nutanix Acropolis virtualization platform. At the Blockchain Conference held in Baku with the support of the Ministry of Transport, Communications and High Technologies of the Republic of Azerbaijan, the Lenovo and Nutanix companies presented their platform project for the first time in the world, jointly implemented for the “Personal Identification System” on the basis of blockchain technology, which combines many banking registers.

The proposed solution allows financial institutions to create distributed computing based on the data centers with the Lenovo-Nutanix Infrastructure and easily increase resources at any time in the future. This method uses the Lenovo ThinkAgile HX7820 Appliance platform runs on the new generation of Intel Xeon Skylake processors, and uses Acropolis solution for Nutanix is selected as a virtualization platform. Through this solution, a financial institution will be able to manage real-time transactions. For example, opening a bank account online, etc. Ramin Guluzade, the Minister of Transport, Communications and High Technologies of the Republic of Azerbaijan and Dmitry Parshin, the Director General of Lenovo Global Technology for Russia and CIS, addressed over 240 participants of the conference.

Ruslan Aliyev, the head of the Commercial Department of AzInTelecom LLC, Farid Osmanov, the Director of the Information Technologies Department of the Central Bank of Azerbaijan, Anar Narimanov, the Director of the Information Technologies and Information Management Center of the State Committee on Property Issues, and Dr. John O’si, Lenovo Global Business Development Director addressed the participants of the event on the blockchain technologies. We will use the architecture we have created for the blockchain project of the Central Bank of Azerbaijan to provide the cloud services called “Blockchain-as-a-Service”. “One of the first blockchain startups in Azerbaijan (IQREX.com) has already moved to our platform and we have earned the first commercial customer in this segment”, stated Rasim Bakhshi, Lenovo’s manager for hyperconvergent infrastructure business development in the CIS countris. Maxim Shaposhnikov, Nutanix’s Leading Technologies Director and Peter Major, Nutanix's Director for OEM-Alliance in Russia, CIS countries, Eastern Europe and Turkey spoke on the Nutanix’s Advanced Technology, Intelligent Multi-clouds Operating System, Artificial Intelligence, and Solution Methods for “Internet of things”.
